Adding your site to the Google Index - Click and submit

As I was submitting a link for the PrinterBees site to the Google Search Engine, I realized that this may be helpful information to many small business owners who have websites which aren't showing up in the search engines.  Google is the center of the Universe it seems when it comes to marketing your business on-line.

I made it my mission to learn anything and everything I could about Google and how Google indexes the websites in it's index. With alot of studying, reading, researching, testing, etc, I have gotten pretty good at getting our website to rank well within the Google Search Engine.  The PrinterBees blog is part of our "ranking plan" and should be part of yours when it comes to getting ranked "on-line". It is also one of my favorite parts of my daily job!  Me …and…Google….we go way back!!! Ha! Ha!

If you don't have a blog as of yet, read this great book on how to build your own blog in one day.  It is easy to follow and has leads you step by step on how to do it.

Before you submit your website to Google, I think it may help if you understand a little bit about how it all works. In VERY simple terms….at leaset as simple as I can make it.

Think of Google as a librarian that must index and sort through millions and millions of websites. The "Google Librarian" has computer program helpers also known as the Google "spiders", "crawlers" or "bots" that visit your website to try and determine what it is all about and where to catagorize it. The crawlers use the information provided in the "meta terms" along with the actual text in the site, names of images, page names and links pointing to your site as some of the many factors when determining exactly where to index your site.

When the Google Index is all nice, tidy and organized it makes for the best over experience for those of us who use Google on a daily basis. If it weren't organized, we wouldn't use Google anymore, right? The best way to help your own cause is to help Google determine where to put you.

You can be helpful in getting your site indexed properly by providing the search engine as much possible basic information when you submit the site. I always use the key terms that I wish to be ranked for when I submit my websites to Google for Indexing (separated by comma's).
