Are you the only thing standing in the way of marketing success?
I learned many years ago that I can only be good at so many things and I can only be GREAT at even less. I have also come to accept that there are many, many, many things I cannot do, not to mention there are so many things I have no desire to do. Why would I waste my precious time doing things I hate doing and am not even good at? Does this sound familiar to you? I am the absolute queen of trying to be an expert at everything.
Over the last few years, I can honestly say that I have gotten so much better at delegating that which I don’t have time to do, have no desire to do, have no desire to learn and am simply not good at. One of the things that makes being human so awesome is that we are all different from one another and we each have unique talents, interests and abilities to offer others. Right????
With this being the case, why in the world are so many real estate and mortgage professionals putting themselves in charge of their own marketing plans being executed? I’m not speaking about not directing what marketing should be done, I am speaking of actually executing it. When you consider the amount of time it takes you to complete the list of things that have to be done to complete a postcard mailing, there is absolutely no way you should be involved in the execution of it. You must:
1. Complete a mail merge using a combination of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. This includes making sure the mail merge contains all of the necessary elements and actually getting them on the postcard, letter, label, envelope, etc.
2. Print the names and addresses on the media that you will be marketing your real estate business with.
3. If you don’t have a bulk permit, which costs about $360 annually, you will be paying .44 cents for each piece mailed out and .28 for postcards.
4. If you are mailing your postcards via bulk, you must make sure all of your zip codes print in the right order and contain a USPS minimum quantities to qualify for bulk.
5. If you are mailing bulk, they must be banded and properly sorted for the post office. You must include the proper forms filled out completely or your mail could sit for several days.
6. You must get it to the post office when mailing bulk, you can't just stick in your mailbox.
7. When mailing bulk, there are additional discounts with CAS certifications that can take the cost of postage down to around .20 cents. This requires expensive software, printers, programs, etc.
These steps don’t even include the designing of your mail piece, coming up with the verbiage, having it printed and everything else included with executing your marketing plans. When you consider the above, doesn’t it make sense to pay someone a very small fee to take this off your plate so you can focus on what you do…sell real estate or real estate mortgages?
I have been in many different real estate agent offices, I have seen the piles of DUSTY envelopes, letters, labels, postcards, etc that never quite seem to make it out the door. It makes me sad more than anything because I know how hard people in this profession work to earn every penny they make. To see those great intentions and the investment of hard earned dollars sitting on the floor is just a total bummer. Put a stop to this happening by taking yourself out of the equation of executing and there is no reason to hire a personal assistant, which is also costly.
Contact PrinterBees regarding our mailing services. Our set up fees are a low $45 per mailing, a .10 cent handing fee per piece, in addition to the actual cost of postage, which can be half of a first class stamp. You could have your own personal marketing execution assistant that requires no management for a few hundred dollars a month, depending on how often you mail and how committed you are to investing in your business with a consistent and effective marketing campaign.
